Active Ingredients

The primary ingredient in Bernie's Perfect Poop is Miscanthus Grass. Miscanthus Grass is a nutritional fiber.
Miscanthus is an all natural grass that is grown in Missouri and Arkansas. Miscanthus is grain free, gluten free, all natural, non-GMO, mechanically processed without chemicals and is not a by product. It is purposely grown as a nutritional fiber for pet food.
The plants formal name is Miscanthus Giganteus and it originates from Asia. Miscanthus Giganteus is a C4 perennial grass that can grow 15 feet tall annually. The picture above shows what Miscanthus looks like when it's growing. It is extremely environmentally friendly and even captures carbon in the soil as it grows.
Miscanthus is great for animals because it is high in dietary fiber. Just like humans, the animals we care for need fiber to help aid in digestion of food. However, they do not have access to natural high fiber sources. Miscanthus has around 85% dietary fiber making it a superior alternative to other fiber sources. If grains have been taken out of your pet's diets and they are mainly eating raw meat based, chances are that the diet does not have enough fiber and needs miscanthus to help their intestines function properly.
