Bernie's Perfect Poop Helps Battle Infection In Dogs

When your dog suffers from an infection, whether acute or chronic, you want to do everything you can to help them heal once for good. How can Bernie's Perfect Poop help infection?

  • Good dog gut health is important for your dog's overall health. A healthy diet with high-quality food is important, but if your dog can't digest and process the food you give him, he loses out on nutrients and health that protect him from infection. Bernie's helps your dog digest foods better and strengthens your dog's gut which can help him battle infection.
  • Even some high-quality foods are hard for your dog to digest and process. Quality fiber helps your dog digest his food and move toxins throughout his body more quickly to keep him healthy and infection-free. The perfect combination of Miscanthus grass, pumpkin and flaxseed in Bernie's gives your dog the fiber they need to battle bad infections.
  • Bernie's Perfect Poop also combines prebiotics and probiotics to balance your dog's gut microbiome. If your dog's gut is imbalanced, bad bacteria take over, and your dog is left vulnerable to infection. The prebiotics and probiotics in Bernie's encourage optimal dog gut health and that's the key to battling infection in your dog.
  • Every cell of your dog's body needs nutrients. When your dog's immune system is fed and healthy, he can fight infection better. Whether it's in prevention or helping an active infection heal better, Bernie's combination of enzymes breaks your dog's food down. That means your dog can keep all his body systems healthy and infection battle-ready.
  • Bernie's Perfect Poop is a 4-in-1 combination of fiber, prebiotics, probiotics, and enzymes. Good dog gut health is the key to a happier, healthier life for your dog. Your dog's body heals from the inside out. When he's battling an infection, a balanced digestive tract and a better gut microbiome are key.

What Is Infection In Dogs And What Are The Symptoms/Signs?

Simply put, infection in dogs occurs when pathogenic microorganisms invade your dog's body and take over. Just like in humans, they can be bacterial, viral or fungal, and dogs are particularly vulnerable due to their inability to maintain the same hygiene as humans do. (Though, they may argue that licking their butt gives them an advantage).

When your dog's gut and immune system are healthy and full of thriving flora that nourish his body's organs and cells, the opportunity for an infection to overtake is far less optimal. Even if your dog comes in contact with a bacteria like ehrlichiosis or giardia, a healthy gut and immune system will fight back, and your dog may not even suffer any effects! In fact, you may not even know he came in contact with those pathogens until a test at the vet suggests he was exposed.

When your dog has an infection, though, you may notice they're lethargic and just 'not themselves.'

Other symptoms of infection in dogs include:

• Red, inflamed skin
• Warm, dry nose
• Fever
• Vomiting
• Diarrhea
• Coughing
• Loss of appetite
• Oozing
• Bleeding
• Bloody urine
• Excessive licking
• Foul breath

Causes of Infection In Dogs

There are many different causes of infection in dogs, but the most common are bacterial or fungal infections. The most common types of bacterial infections are from staph, leptospirosis, Bordetella and E. Coli. However, that's certainly not an exhaustive list.

Virus and fungus can also cause infection in dogs—some notable viral infections are canine influenza, Parvo and Distemper. Common fungal infections often occur in your dog's ears (Malassezia pachydermatis) or genital areas (Candida). All infection can be painful and dangerous for your dog. It's important to find out what you're battling and keep your dog's immune system preventatively battle-ready as well.

WARNING

Exclamation Point

It's often hard to tell if your dog has a viral infection, a bacterial infection or fungal infection (or a combination). When your dog has an infection, checking with your dog's veterinarian is a good idea so you know how to support and supplement. Infections can also be life-threatening, so it’ important your vet examines your dog to make sure medical intervention isn’t required. The best defense is a strong offense, so a healthy gut is the best way to prevent and fight infection your dog may have.

More Information on Infections In Dogs

Good dog gut health is pivotal to overall health in your dog. We cannot stress enough how important a healthy gut is for fighting all types of infection in dogs. Your dog needs the best microbiome he can have to stay healthy and happy, and Bernie's 4-in-1 formula makes that easy to accomplish.

Fiber may help with Dog Infection
Fiber is a carbohydrate that your dog cannot digest. Still, it's super important for your dog's digestive system, in that it's what your dog's gut needs to be healthy, energetic members of your dog's microbiome. Helpful bacteria in your dog's gut feed off of fiber. In the breakdown process, this produces short-chain fatty acids that are good for your dog's metabolism and overall health. When the helpful bacteria in your dog's gut have the right fiber intake, their balanced microbiomes are capable of fighting off harmful viruses, bacteria or fungal overgrowth. The right combination of insoluble and soluble fiber helps prevent and fight infection, and also protects your dog from additional offensive bacteria that could lead to more infection.

Prebiotics and Probiotics may help with Dog Infection
The helpful bacteria in your dog's gut work together, almost like an additional organ in your dog's body. They keep your dog able to absorb nutrients from food, and to ward off illness and infection. Prebiotics and probiotics are key supplements to helping your dog's gut health be at its best because they keep the right balance of healthy bacteria in your dog's gut. The prebiotic in Bernie's is Inulin, which acts as a fertilizer to feed the good bacteria in your dog's lower digestive tract. When the good bacteria in your dog's digestive tract get the right nutrition, they thrive and keep your dog's gut healthy and ready to fight infections.

Probiotics are the good bacteria in your dog's gut. When an infection starts to set in, adding good bacteria through supplementation with Bernie's helps your dog achieve good dog gut health by crowding the harmful bacteria out. A rich gut that's regularly supplemented is an even bigger defense against infection beginning.

Enzymes may help with Infection In Dogs
Enzymes in Bernie's Perfect Poop will help your dog's digestive tract break food down better. That's key for ensuring your dog absorbs the nutrients he's supposed to get. The more nutrition he gets to the cells and organs in his body, the stronger they are to fight infection. More, the better his digestion is, and the better his gut health will be. Good dog gut health is his best protection against infection.
